A Practical Poem.
The Times invokes Mr. Cowper, the new President of the Board of Works, to set resolutely to work at cleaning the Serpentine, and exhorts him honourably to connect his name with the improvement which would thereby be effected. If Mr. Cowper will take this good advice, future competitive candidates for Government situation, will, in answer to the question of their examiners, assuredly declare him to have been the author of Cowper’s Task.
